Here's something I would like to clear up with you all, Google is not the internet!!! in fact google is just a normal run of the mill website like the one you might have, the reason it so popular and the most recognised search engine in the world, is because of how well it was marketed in the beginning.  Yes, you too could have a world wide or even just a locally famous website, if you put the time and effort into making it so.

The most confusing thing for people to understand is that, yes your website is live and no you can't google it straight away, your site has to become indexed first, that unfortunately, can not be made to happen, it is googles choice to which websites get index, the fact is your website may never be indexed, google has no affiliation with any one, nor do they offer affiliation.

All you can do, is give your site the best chance to be indexed, there are many things you can do for this to happen, we here at AD Belsham, can guide you on the best ways to help to have your website indexed by google and any other search engine for that matter, not only do we want you to be on google, we want you to be on the first page!

But remember, just because you googled your new website and nothing came up, doesn't mean it doesn't exist, type your .com.au name in the address bar and you will find it instantly, market your website, attach it to any form of advertising you might be doing, this all helps in the process of getting searchable on any search engine, because at the end of the day, every search engine can only show what it knows, so make your site known.

Here's a quick tip, if you want your website to be indexed quicker on google, jump on Facebook or any other social networking site and open a group for your business, this will almost guarantee traffic to your site :)

As part of my job, cold calling is a very usefull and important way to get business, I'm not a big fan of doing it but I am aware if I don't do it, I simply can't make money.

I'm also aware that most businesses hate it as well, mainly because of the people who do it at the most inconvient times, such as "telemarketers" those guys give the rest of us a bad name, I do all my calling at respectful business hours and at the end of the day all I am trying to do is rasie the awareness of why you need to speak to me, afterall, I have a family to feed too.

There are those who actually give you the time of day and thats what can make your day that much better when you can talk to someone who realises your only trying to help them , how hard is it to say politely, sorry I am not interested? Instead of some of the rude responses I get from most people, just remember one day I may require to spend money in your industry for something I need, it's pretty safe to say your not getting my money!

Unfortunately, having a website and knowing the importance of the interent, isn't that well known to most businesses but it does need to be made aware to people, one way or the other, if it has to be done through cold calling then thats the way I have to do it.

Not everyone is a scam artist, so next time someone calls you, why don't you take the time to hear what they have to say, meet with them and look at their proposal, it may well just change the way you do business for the better
